Joining the family there. I set them up and left them last weekend. The DW keeps texting pictures of the kids playing on the beach - I'm working so haven't decided if she is being nice or rubbing-it-in.
The beach is amazing! Tide goes out 500+ yards leaving gorgeous sand and warm shallow pools.
We are heading to Winslow town park in Freeport Maine then to Camden State park in Maine. Great view of town and ocean on top of Mt Battie while having afternoon coffee and tea.
We're at Columbia Hills State Park near Dallesport, WA - right on the north bank of the Columbia river. Ended up getting here about 2 hours late due to a semi that got stuck under an overpass and caused some lengthy backups on the interstate. Thankfully the GPS re-routed us or it would have been worse. Ironically we got stuck in another backup about 3 years ago due to the same problem at the same overpass......
Headed to Big Lake, AZ this Sunday. Never been there but friends tell us it's real nice and good fishing too! It's only about 3 hours from our place so an easy pull, up only one mountain road.
We are in Saltwater Farm RV Park, Thomaston, ME. It's 20 to 50 F degrees cooler "real feel" than home. First extended stay and trip. Directions from Kim Gass saved the day as has tips on hitch and trailering from Forum members.
We stayed at Nottingham Campground east of Mt. Hood this weekend. I would keep it a secret if I could, but that ship has sailed. Forest Service claims "Usage: Light" on their web site, but that's not true at all. Aside from Sunday night through Tuesday, it is 100% capacity throughout the summer.
This is why:
East fork of the Hood River backs most sites in the campground. Kids and dog love playing in the [COLD] water, wife and I love the view and the sound (I was sitting next to the picnic table when I took that photo, and the trailer was 10 or 15 feet behind me, so you really are sleeping right next to the river). Gets a little chilly overnight but the daytime temperatures right now are very pleasant.
