Where is the fresh water tank drain on Solstice 21B?

I have a 2023 Jayco 21B Class B RV. The chassis is a 2022. The operators manual refers to a fresh water tank drain and shows a picture but it does not reflect what I see underneath. I've searched high and low and cannot locate the fresh water tank drain. The Low Point Drains are clearly marked on the side of the RV, but these drain the lines. I called the dealer and they sent me to their service dept and they said check YouTube? If someone has located this drain, please help. Otherwise, if I run the water pump it does send fresh water out the low point drains, perhaps I can empty it that way. Thanks in advance!

Gray tank drain

I have a 2022 Ethos T, for me to drain fresh tank I have to go under the driver side bed under the raising part. There is a tap to put straight up , then go to my water control panel set to normal, turn on the pump and it starts draining ( the drain tube is just behind rear drivers wheel. Hope this helps, Kelly

Thank you Kelly, much appreciated. The fresh water tank is just above the rear wheel well on the passenger side then extending forward under the bed, sink, microwave and stove. There's no access under those items. I did remove a panel (3 wood screws) to look under the extendable bed on the passenger side. I saw the top of the tank but can't see underneath or access the bottom of it. There is no fresh water tank drain under the sink and I can't access the area under the oven. There are 4 low point drains on the outside of the vehicle, one of which seems to empty the fresh water tank, but only if I run the water pump. As mentioned, I have not found any valve as shown in the Solstice manual. There is no visual way to inspect to see if the fresh water tank is completely empty, but it does seem to be. There are a few other instructions (in the Solstice manual) that do not match the Solstice. Please see Page 58 and 59 of the attached manual. It's a 2024 manual, but the picture is the same as the 2023 manual. I couldn't find a PDF of the 2023.

Thanks Norty1. Hey, is it common to have to run the water pump to drain the fresh water tank? If so, then one of the 4 Low Point Drains is probably the Fresh Water Tank drain. It's odd that it's shown differently in the manual though. Thanks!

Often you have to open a tap to allow the fresh tank to drain for ventilation. Others don't work that way. I guess you have to figure it out with each unit.

Nels13, on our 2024 Solstice 21BL ('23 chassis), the freshwater drain appears to be located inside the passenger side sliding door, on the lower left at the backside base of the galley. Ours is marked "LOW POINT DRAIN," and when that valve is opened, water flows from below underneath our Solstice. When the water stops running, our freshwater tank monitor reads "empty." Unfortunately, I too found that Jayco's one-size-fits-all RVs owners manual supplied with our Solstice was not helpful.

Freshwater tank drain

Thank you Grouser. I think mine is the same. It's only drain that is close to the tank. It's strange because the pic in the manual has no resemblance to the actual location of the drain. Happy trails!

I have never owned an RV that would not drain if a cold water tap was open along with the low point drain. You may have to locate the drain by trial and error. Most of the time once you learn your rig you won’t forget it but don’t assume all are plumbed the same way.

Drain

Thanks Norty, ya, that's the strange end of it. The Low Point drains only empties out the FW tank if I open a faucet and run the water pump at the same time until the pump tone changes. One would think it would be different, and operate like an actual drain. So, I made sure I really did the winterization (with extra) RV anti-freeze last fall just incase there was residual water. Quickest for me is to turn the shower on, open the low point drains and let the pump run until empty. Then I left the drains open for a few hours with the faucet open and finally emptied the holding tanks and winterized it. I just wished Jayco read their own manuals and the dealers did as well. I've done maintenance on a lot of stuff and usually the shop book matches the vehicle. Happy travels in 2025!
