Limiting text to 1,000 characters is just stupid in my personal opinion. Disk space is cheap. Makes it discouraging to write useful instructions.

I agree but am not sure where you are finding this restriction? Posts are currently set with a 30K character limit and PMs are at 15K. Can you post more info about this please so we can look into it?

I post to the precept owners group on this website exclusively- so I only have experience posting within this group. If i type a post that is 1001 characters it will come back with an error message saying that I have exceeded the 1,000 character limit by one character and will not post the text.

I see by my name that I am listed as a "junior" member. Could this have something to do with this 1,000 character limit per post? What is a junior membership anyway? Is there asenior membership of some kind?

Junior or senior member is relative to your post count. Should have no bearing on how many characters you can type in a post.

That group is under the Community... Social Groups, and all the Social Groups are limited to a total of 1000 characters per post. I have yet to hit a limit on posts outside the Social Groups. I manage the "RVing with SOLAR" social group and it only allows 1000 characters (spaces included). I had to create a few Part 1 and Part 2 posts to get all the information in. That is the way the FORUM software is set up.
