Winegard Initial Connection - do not see SSID

Quick question which I suspect could simply be the sunlight, it appears in your last image that you have a grey and red wire connected. Is it grey or is it black and simply bleached out in the image due to the sunlight? ~CA

I have to take care of a few things and won't be back until later this evening or tomorrow.

Based on not having power at the wifi while having power at the switch feeding into the wires to the rooftop wifi, implies a broken connection between the two endpoints. I am not overly familiar with how Jayco sets up this system but I wouldn't be surprised to find a box in the ceiling underneath this area where the connections are made (if so, that is what I would check next) or if there are connections at the roof underneath (which perhaps would be better checked under warranty), but for sure if there is voltage leaving the switch and not making it to the wifi itself, then there is a break\poor connection between the two endpoints. ~CA

Yes, it is black, just the sun making it look grey :)

I'm going to ask the crazy question. Have you checked the crimp fittings for the black and red? There have been times that the wires were not properly stripped and the insulation was still on the wire.
Yes, tried this too, we removed the crimp, and hold the wire directly on the plate (where the crimp attach) for 20 seconds and more, and no activity on the light on the roof. We also tried reversing the black & red cables, same thing nothing.

Were you able to measure the voltage on those two

Yes, and there’s nothing. It’s as if there something in the walls…. Maybe a switch or the cable is broken…. It would be nice if I could find a sketch of the wifi wiring, where it goes from the roof up to the plate (switch).

Another thing we just tried just to be sure the antenna was ok…. We bought a cable and hooked it up directly in the antenna (on roof) to the board (in cabinet), and all is good, we see the SSID. So this confirm that the Winegard antenna is good and it’s something with the cable inside the wall :(.

Being your RV is new, I don't know that I would recommend doing too much more and instead I would consider getting the problem fixed under warranty. However, if I was to check anything else I would look carefully around the battery compartment for any small awg wires not connected to anything. Under the wifi itself is a connection based on reports from others that Jayco pre-wires many units like yours and leaves the wires under a plastic cap on the roof for those w/o wifi and for those RV's that do get the WIFI then they connect the wifi wires to those wires under the cap on the roof (where they install the wifi). In other words, there is likely a connection underneath the wifi unit, but I am not sure how easy it would be to check those connections and perhaps it would be better to have it checked and fixed under warranty. ~CA
