Early on, after The Great Pantry Collapse, I reinforced most of the shelves and cabinet bottoms in our rig. Screws instead of staples. Guess which one I didn’t reinforce: DW’s wardrobe. After getting to our destination, she informs me the bottom fell out. Only thing in it was a small “cosmetics” case. (I think it was an anvil carrying bag.) It’s jury-rigged for now. Will tackle it properly back home. Word to the wise (not me) — reinforce anything stapled.

Staples are great clamps while wood glue dries. Anything else is just not going to hold up to going down the road.

I used some 1/4" narrow crown staples (a lot more than the fine finishing staples they used. It's really solid now.

Had the same thing happen in our previous 195RB. I always keep a book or two in the wardrobe and apparently that was enough weight to cause the bottom to fall out. Our current ORV isn't immune to these types of things either - just fixed a drawer slide last night where the staples had worked their way loose.

Might want to tell the mfrs they're missing 2/3 of the equation: real wood and glue.
