Just the wife and I, and the dinette bench isn't comfortable. We usually eat with the table pulled in front of the couch.

It sure looks like if you removed the dinette bench and re-routed a heater and electrical outlet, That you could put 2 recliners there with a step up/ table in the middle to get to the front bed.

Does anyone have experience doing this kind of bigger renovation?

Thank you in advance!

Interesting idea! There would be a number of challenges that need to be figured out. First issue would be installing new paneling. Finding matching paneling will be difficult locally. You could use the existing paneling, but you will have joints that need to trimmed up for looks. You have hatches on both sides that need to be addressed for looks. You mentioned the heat duct, which is a minor issue, if you have looked in that cabinet, your water heater is in that location. Really cannot move the water heater. This means the maximum width is from the wall to the water heater cabinet. Not sure that distance is, but it could limit the chair size.

Ah!

Thank you for your reply and very interesting. I should have figured there'd be something important under there.

Our family joke is that I can fix anything with a hammer, so I was a bit hesitant anyway!

Very interesting possibilities...

Since buying the 19RD (under 3 months ago), I've been thinking of ripping out the dinette (benches AND table) and the couch. Replacing them with a table and 4-6 chairs that:
- Are stowed for transport lashed to the walls.
- Can be set up inside the trailer
- or can be set up under the awning.

The dinette benches are 100% storage, so no disruption to water/electric systems in removing them. The couch covers the furnace (I think) so there may be issues...

Just gotta wait for the warrantee to run out.
