I am going to Madison Campground, Yellowstone for the first time this summer with my X213 and wanted to know if anyone has been there before? Does anyone know if they will let you use the outside shower on the trailer? I understand that the showers are 14 miles away and I think the holding tank is too small for a family of four to utilize the on board shower. We will be camping there for almost a week. Thanks in advance for any input of info.

Brent

Hi Brent,
We're looking at going there this summer with our x213. Looks like they won't take our trailer and truck (combined length 47'). Did you end up camping there? Any advice?
Thanks!

I am going there in June .my TT is 30' TV is 22"!
So why yours 2 long? Or are the bigger sites all booked up?

I was trying to book online and the largest option in the drop down menu is 40' or less. I also read on the booking site that you have to book based on your combined length. Our TT extended is 28'. Are they being over cautious? I'd hate to get there after a long drive with 2 kids under 2 and not be able to stay :/ Have you been before? This will be our first ever TT trip.

We stayed at Madison years ago with our 20 ft trailer. I recall the campgrounds as being very nice, but pretty tight. Turns and driveways were narrow

Really don't remember the water/ shower conditions, but given the habitat, I would not think the outside shower is permitted

Can't help you but I'll be there the last week of June. Unfortunately we will be doing the tent thing. Showers 14 miles away? Good thing Mama ain't going. Just us boys![emoji48]

we are around 49 feet combined and fit in Madison fine. I would take the suggested advice and call for a reservation, that is what we do. there are a lot of big 5th wheels and motorcoaches that fit in Madison. the sites are tight and a lot of trees but is a nice campground once you get situated. there is a dump station and water also at the entrance.
I would suggest fueling up before entering the park if possible as it is a lot cheaper than inside the park. since this is your first visit I would also suggest arriving early so if they give you a site that is marginal you can go back and get a different one. sometimes a tree or two is in the way and cant put out the slide all the way. have fun and enjoy your stay.

I called and we had to book into the rv park due to availability :( I was hoping to do Madison. The gal on the phone wasn't too chatty and I couldn't get her to tell me of she'd let me book with my rig if there had been space. Oh well. Next time.

We camped their last July. We rented a 24 foot TT in jackson and towed it there. Your spot has to be long enough for both trailer and truck. They are single width. . We got the last one in the park last year she said. It's an amazing place. Birthplace of the national park system.
