Planning a longer trip this summer. Leaving upstate NY on our way to Yellowstone. Planning on I90 west then around Chicago and on to I80.
Will stay at RV parks with hook ups every other night out and back.
We’ll be gone about ~24 days total. With only reservations for Gros Ventre in Grand Teton then Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone.
Trip home we’re planning on 2-3 night near Badlands/Mt Rushmore.
Trip out west has always been in our bucket list.

That's a great trip. Gros Ventre is a great location and if you are into boondocking, there are tons are areas in and around that region that you would enjoy. But that's really not enough time for what you are doing, IMHO. Once you get out west you will find a lot of other side regions and locations that you just might get stuck hanging around, if at all possible. . Make sure you do Cody Wyoming.

Badlands are incredible. Rushmore is really crowded so allowed extra time. Same with Yellowstone. We enjoy the scenic drives on the North side of Yellowstone. Saw tons of buffalo up there. Just remember we are visitors in their home. We stayed at Fishing Bridge last time which is a convenient location. We love the Tetons.

While in Cody, do the Chief Joseph Highway (Rt 296) and the Beartooth Highway (Rt 212 from Red Lodge, MT to the northwest entrance to Yellowstone, arguably the best scenic roads in the country, and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West.

We’d love to go longer but that’s when I can get the vacation time.
Whatever we don’t see this time we’ll get to next. Give us a reason to go back.
Wife is really looking forward to the Badlands.
They’ll be a two day stay just south of Indianapolis to visit the in-laws on the way home.

Well you could always call in sick and use some sick days to further your "rehab" and recovery time . You would not want to pass along the "Travel Bug" to others by getting too close to your co-workers and showing too much excitement when telling them about your peek ventures before having the time to decompress .:ROFLMAO::HaHaHa:
