Onboard Generator Options 382flrb

Hi all,
I'm contemplating putting a permanently mounted generator in the forward bay of our 382flrb.

It is pre-wired for this option from the factory so I'm not stuck with struggling with that at least!

I'm interested in what Mfg and models some of you might have installed.

Ordered ours with the Onan 5500 lp generator. Works flawlessly.

As was mentioned, the Onan 5500 lp would be the preference for most. It is what I would call the "gold standard"..

Just be sure the one you order comes with 2 30 amp breakers and not a 30 and 20 since there are variations.

I have been amazed at how quite and smooth the Onan 5500 is. I can't feel it or hear it in bed with the Air Conditioner running.

FYI...One 40 lbs. bottle last for me 9-14 hours depending on load. Two AC running wide open on hot day 9 hours, 1 AC at night, 14 hours...longer if you are just charging batteries.

Onan 5500 gas gen (evap). Installed a 15 gallon gas tank in storage with carbon cannistor filter (out of a car) to comply with epa venting. Allows all propane to be used for heating, cooking, and water heater. Fridge is residential. Some people are unconfortable with that setup. To ones own though. No different than toy haulers.
