- Well as you can tell from previous answers, we are new to RVing. I retired last year after a 42 year career in the National Guard. My wife will retire in 2.5 years as a middle school educator. We are hoping to go on a 2-3 year lower 48 state road trip in 2020 to just see and enjoy our country. We are just trying to get educated in "Travel Trailers" and vehicles to tow one of them.
