Coincidentally we had a Regal 242 Commodore, great boats. We took many weekend trips up the river to Saugerties, Kingston, Catskill, Roundout etc. We’ve been as far north as Troy. I had the boat at my house to do some work on it and a falling tree totaled it. Since I was keeping it out of the water for the season I had canceled the insurance. I sold the wrecked boat and trailer for a few thousand dollars. We bought our trailer and have been camping for four years now. I’m semi-retired and work 1 or two days a week supplying meat to a few local restaurants. My wife retired from the NJ Superior Court a few years ago. We usually take 6 day trips, we use the trailer like a hotel room. We have 30 nights booked for this season. We leave on Thursday morning and return on Wednesday morning for each trip to beat the traffic. We stay in the campgrounds for about half the time and travel around the other half. In a year or two our plan is to downsize and take some longer trips.

We are Anthony and Christine, we had a boat in the Haverstraw Marina for ten years. We would take trips up the river a few times a year. The boat was in winter storage and a huge tree totaled it during hurricane Isaias. We had explored all the marinas during our time with the boat. We replaced the boat with the Fifth Wheel. We picked The Newburgh KOA to revisit some of the places we had previously been to with the boat.

I actually booked the KOA site in early February. It’s getting hard to get anything if you wait too long. My wife Christine and I learned that our first year with the RV in 2020. Sometimes trying ten or more campgrounds to find a suitable site. Maybe I’ll see you in August then!

I saw you upgraded to the 250 6.2. exactly what I want to do later this year. have you towed yet with it? interested to see how big of a difference it makes.
