The heater will not kick in below a certain flow rate.
If there is a screen or aerator on the faucet outlet, could it be partially clogged?

I had the 'pinging' sound which was not cured by using high octane gas. The problem was actually caused by Ford omitting an idler pulley on the belt.

If you winterize by blowing the lines out with air and not using antifreeze, it may be better to leave the low point drains open in case some residual water might collect there and freeze the valve....

I'm thinking it is not a good idea to power the toad brake only from the RV. If there is a breakaway, the brake will not function. You could add a small battery to take care of that.
