Charleston SC Campgrounds

We will be heading to Charleston SC middle of July, we have always stayed at James Island County Park. Are there any other CG close to Charleston that are as good or better?

Yes a few. Don't know what you want so I can't comment on better. There are 2 KOA's, one in Mt. Pleasant and another in Ladson, SC.

In addition, Oak Plantation is on Savannah Hwy, US-17S, just west of Charleston. All are nice CG's and I have stayed in all of them including JICP.

All are convenient to the Charleston area.

We stayed at Oak Plantation 2 months ago. It's nice, and fairly convenient to the city. We had a wonderful visit to Charleston.

The ones that have been mentioned are the only ones in the local area. All are full hookup cg's and have good reputations among campers. Closest to IOP is Mt. Pleasant, KOA
