Wooden Camp Sign
We were at a craft fair over the weekend and we saw some nice looking wooden camp signs with a solar mailbu light on top. We would like to get one but have it personalized for my family (these were not personalized). Does anyone know of a website where I can order one?
Thanks!

Out daughter bought us this sign last year for Christmas.
No light but we get lots of comments on our sign.
She bought it off ebay.

Now that is really cool and very creative. If the Post Office would just assign an address to that box . . . . .

We picked up one of these from a Pigeon Forge TN trip one time... Pretty neat looking PVC lamp post. Momabear was extra cost....
All of this could very easily be made up with all the parts from LOWES including the LAMP fixture. The guy we got it from sent the hanging name tag after we got home from the trip...
The bottom is a round piece of 1/2-inch plyboard and we pile a few rocks on it to hold it up... The decor lights are just christmas lights...
Breaks down to two pieces plus the round plyboard piece when in travel mode...
All up and down the strip shops in Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge TN has things like this including the wooden personalized camp signs etc. Come on down as they say ....

I don't know about the "lights" part, but I have seen places that make the personalized wooden signs. Try a flea market, or a tourist area. In Myrtle Beach where i store my TT, there is a local flea market and there are several vendors that make them. I am sure there are probably some in your area as well.

Brian,
I don't know about the solar light part of the sign that you're looking for, but here are two different places you may want to check out.
http://www.3dwoodenphotos.com/
http://www.craftvillage.com/default.html
Both places offer custom signs. I've seen the ones from 3D Wooden Photos, they are really nice.

Go to Quartzsite Az. in January. You will find many vendors who will make any type of sign you like.

We got ours at a local fair from a guy who made them while you waited. The bottom sign is a decal I ordered from ebay and we put it on a painted piece of metal and sprayed with clear epoxy. We have had alot of compliments. And of course I have to get something started by saying that we choose not to put where we are from on it for 2 reasons. First, hubby is law enforcement and knows that people see where your from, look in the phone book, get your address and can ransack your house while your away... yes its happened many times. May not happen in big cities where there are more then one of you by the same name but when you have a odd last name and theres not many of you... second, we like when people come over to us and actually ask us where we are from. Its a great conversation starter and a way to meet new people.

We ran across a fellow making signs at one of the campgrounds we stayed at this summer. It turned out that he lived in the next town up the coast from us in Florida.

Just ordered ours online from CarvingBlock and made the request to have the camper painted up like our little Jayco. I will post up a pic when it comes in next week. Santa will leave it under the tree x-mas morning

We made one of the lamp posts out of PVC a few years back. Instead of using plywood and rocks, we glued a toilet flange on it and used 4 89 cent screwdrivers to hold it in the ground. We've been using a sign with our name on it that we've had since we got married with it. I bought one of the Craftsman Compucarves (made by Carvewright) computerized carving machines a few years back and finally learned how to use it this summer. One of my tasks to do this winter is to make us a new sign that incorporates the kids names and a picture of the camper on it. I think I'm also going to make one to use when we are camping either at the fair or with our 4-H group to include something along those lines as well.

I actually have 2. The first we bought in the Yosemite area and just says The Snake Plissken Family. I also have the one my family used when I was a kid. My uncle made them and it's in the shape of Michigan with a marker for Lansing and says Plissken Family. As the only male child (and now the only Plissken left) I love having both.
