Tireminder booster

Hey all,
I am going to be mounting the signal booster for my Tireminder system.
I am thinking about mounting it at the front “under” the trailer where the metal outside skirt curls up so the booster would have some protection.
I am wondering if the metal around it will have any significant loss of signal issues?

Thanks

TireMinder told me to mount ours facing the asphalt with the antennas facing toward the trailer axles. Been there for 3.5 years and still working great.

My booster is the older “white box” and the recommendations when I bought it was to mount it someplace under or protected. Being cautious I. Our 1st TT (a hybrid) I mounted it in the forward pass thru and it worked great. The topic came up again when we upgraded to the 39’ 5th. I tried the basement and it has served us well for 10 yrs. The double antenna booster (rhino) looks like it would survive outside.
Given my caution and past experience, if I upgraded again I’d likely mount it in a storage compartment.

Just mounted mine on the jack post. Works fine. Does anyone remove the senders from the valve stems between trips? I have. Overkill?

I remove them when it’s sitting in storage. I figure the plastic caps and O-rings will last longer if they’re out of the weather.

I have the ezz tire booster mounted in the basement also, hooked to the wires for a light. Second 5th wheel I have has the same unit in and it has been flawless. I never take the sensors off and the batteries last over 3 years.

I have the older white booster. Mounted it on the shelf of my front bedroom, tapped 12v power from one of the reading lights mounted on the underside of the shelf. Works great, going back to 2016.

Well darn.....I must have jinxed myself

On the way home from a trip last week we kept getting loss of signal warnings. Looked under the trailer at a gas station and no lights on the booster. Removed it and tested it directly on the truck battery today and it's dead.......

The replacement will be arriving on Saturday and I'm going to give mounting it in the front storage compartment a try.

Even thought TireMinder says it's 100% water proof and it needs to be mounted under the trailer, I accidentally popped the cover off it while removing it and there are no seals what so ever under the plastic cover that conceals the circuit board. It appears to me that water intrusion had taken place over the years.
