Generator Project complete?

I just ordered this one... https://pulsar-products.com/products/pg10000b16/

I got a cyber week deal at Amazon for $569. I have a feeling they messed up, because the price is higher now...lol.

The plan is to remove the frame and gas tank. Then, I plan on building a box out of fireproof insulation, that will also work as sound deadening. The plan is to install a decent 12v fan to circulate air around the motor, pipe the exhaust out the bottom, and install another 50amp receptacle close to the generator. When I want to use it, I will just plug it in.

Anyone see any issues with this? I'm sure I will change things 100 times when I have it sitting in front of me. The camper is still at the dealer. They are prepping everything, and installing my stackable washer/dryer. I pick it up on the 15th. Much easier to plan something when you have it sitting in front of you.
Somehow this one got overlooked a while back. I'd love to know if you already tackled this project and how it came out?! You got a GREAT deal on that Genny, its $970 now!!

It ended up that that seller was a crook on Amazon. Amazon refunded my money. I ended up buying a dual-fuel from Camping World. It's a champion. It's not quite as big but big enough for what I need. When the weather warms up I will work on mounting it inside of the camper. Currently, it resides in my pass-thru storage underneath.

It will be noisy compared to a onan. Also be away of overheating.

I plan on modifying the exhaust and installing a large 12 volt fan for air circulation. I am also going to insulate the compartment with a thick fireproof insulation.

Got my new window installed today. I didn’t replace the entire window, only the broken pane. Took all of 10 minutes. Most of that was cleaning up the tape residue and broken glass.

This is the new unit that I removed the pane from

New pane installed

All cleaned up

You probably should have left the plastic on in case you blew it out again!

Looks very good, Tom. They couldn’t sell you just that one window? So you now store the other side just in case? Or sell on Craigslist or forum here?

Darin

I wish I could’ve only bought the one piece of glass. I had to buy the entire window unit ($500 after tax!). Yes, the other side is in my garage, just in case.

Dang, that’s a really big ouch! I just looked at mine and can’t really see how it attaches at the top. Of course it’s dark here now. Geez I hope it never happens again with your rig.

Yes it was!
If you look on the top of the window, there are screws that hold the panes in place. Remove the outer screw and slide it off the track. Really easy.

Thanks Mark and Jack. It really wasn’t difficult. In fact, even a caveman could do it LOL! [emoji23]

And links to part numbers!

I'm still baffled on why the bathroom fan vent is not powered, no average height human can reach that knob. And leaving it open with no vent cover or rain sensor is risking catastrophe.

How long did it take you to do the fan swap?

I am going to attach the pictures that I can take because it is dark outside right now. The fan upgrade took me about an hour. I did not want to remove the fan housing from the roof and have to reseal everything, so I disassembled everything and put all of the parts into the old housing. I just had to drill one hole and make two wire connections. It really wasn't that hard to do. I also have the EMS 50 amp surge protector that I have already wired the pigtail in but I am waiting for a good day to pull the fuse panel and wire the rest of it in. I need a day off with good weather. Another thing, is I worked 12 hours last night and got off at 6 this morning. It's been a long day.

I need to put a max air fan with a remote in my bathroom. I’m the only one that can reach the fan.
