I have a 1995 1207KB J series. This past weekend, I found out one of my three outer telescoping poles was locked in the closed position. I could not turn it and extend it out. So I had poles at each end with nothing in the middle. It seems to be locked inside and can't free it. They are very expensive to replace new if ordered and can't find a used one in good shape, as I have no idea where to look. Local dealers that don't service Jayco do not carry that type. Any ideas out there?

locked with a pin or with a cam? If the latter, try two pipe wrenches to turn the poles in opposite directions.

The good news is, I only use two poles with my canopy. The the 3rd (middle) doesn't really support much (IMO) so I don't use it. Plus, its one less set of poles you have to stuff in the 'bag of tricks' (as I call it).

You can probably buy a simple collapseable metal 'tent pole' with a bayonette end on it that you will have to modify to work with the exsisting setup.

Had same problem, and what I did was spray some wd-40 down between the poles and let it rest for awhile then use two pieces of emery cloth or sand paper, wrap one piece around the outside pole and one on the inside pole, with grit against pole, grasp the paper and turn. it worked like the old Granny Grippers. then take them apart clean off the oxidation on the pole using scotch brite. then I would take them apart and dry then put them together when i used them. my fear is when using pipe wrenches it would crush the poles.

Agree 100% It worked on my Awning poles and on my fish pond leaf net pole. I kept "working" mine while clening off he rust and dirt and respraying that good ol' WD-40.
