Yellowstone NP reservation situation today.

I was just at the Yellowstone NP site trying to add a day to my stay at Fishing Bridge. It lead to an interesting observation.

They have 3 classes, 30' and under, 35' and under, and 40' and under. There aren't a lot of 40' and under sites and it shows.

There are still lots of days still open for 30' and under. Works well for my 27' 23RB.

These are the days available in the 30' and under group. May has 11th-31st open. Jun has 1st-4th, 8th-10th, 16th-17th, 23rd-24th, and 29th-30th open. Jul has 6th-31st open. Aug has 1st-31st open, and Sep has 1st-7th open.

These are the days available in the 35' and under group. May has 11-26, 29, 31 available. Jun has 2-3, 8-9, 16, 29 available. Jul has 7-8, 14,21,27-28 available. Aug has 3-4, 6, 11-31 open. Sep has 1-4 available.

These are the days available in the 40' and under group. May is full. Jun has 7-10 available. Jul is full. Aug has 18th available. Sep has 4th available.

Thanks, this is great information. Could you go back and check on mid-September and tell them we would like a spot...We are planning a trip there and were suprised that the campgrounds the would fit our needs in the park will be closed.

We were there last Sept from the 17th to the 29 th. When we left the only campground open was at Mammoth, which is open year round. FYI - We stayed in West Yellowstone. For 8 of the days we were there, various roads were closed from snow. It snowed heavy almost everyday somewhere in the park. Signs were up for snow rated tires or chains, although I never saw it enforced. Kept the crowds down and made wildlife easier to spot. Just be prepared for any type of weather. On Yellowstone lodging website it gives the closing dates of campgrounds, stores, exhibits etc.
