Command Products

I know these are huge in use for RV'ers. I have read all about using alcohol to clean surface etc so they stay up. We have 2019 Seneca.

My question, which I have not seen addressed.... Do they really leave no damage on the walls of our Jayco's?

I have a list of places I want to put them but expect to remove and change things up as I figure our organization.

thanks for your replies

They work very well. The only place they may leave adhesive residue is if you use them on the outside, and they remain in the sun for a long time. We have a couple on the outside that we hang a small sign on, and I have to replace them every year. The inside ones haven't caused any problems, even after 7 years.

Get the pound rating that you need. If you load them too heavy, they will come off. No damage to wall, just will not stay put.

We use them for just about everything we hang up and they hold well without damage. Have yet to have something fall while towing.

We have some here at work and I cannot get them off the wall. I pulled the little tab and it broke. Tried to heat them up slightly to make the adhesive gooey with no luck. Guess they'll be staying.

Had the same problem in the TT. I was able to slide a thin knife blade between the wall and Command hook and gently pop it loose.

The only problem I've ever had with any of mine was in the pass-thru storage in my TT. I put some up to hang some light weight tools and stuff, and the vinyl coating on the wall actually came loose.

To be clear, I believe this was a defect of the wall, not the hook. The hook held fast to the bubbled wall coating.

Literally all of our other Command products have been fantastic in the camper, and we have them all over the place. Every now and again, one will fall, but it's usually because it was a marginal installation or situation. They are not magic, and despite DW's best effort, they do have some limitations!

We had a about a dozen in our Class C. Most were up for 7 years. We had both the hooks and the Velcro. When we trading the C in, all of them came off without damage.

DW put them in our last 4 campers for dishtowels, key hooks, coat hooks, etc. Never had a problem with them falling off or getting them off.

Command Cult

Don't- I repeat- DON'T get started with command strips. You'll be hooked (literally) and find yourself in random Walmarts at 2A.M. searching for just one more hook, a little soap dish, or the holy grail of command strips, a command strip paper towel holder.
Don't do it! It starts with just one or two, next thing you know, you're draining your 401k and sending it to 3M.
It's too late for us- we now buy those little alcohol wipes by the gross. We empty our drawers and hang everything on the walls- spatulas, colanders, dirty socks.
I barely remember the simple life before command strips, but know that we will never be returning to the cluttered, but happy, life we once knew.

Mine fall off after about 1 year. I'm not overweight on them. My camper goes through a lot temperature/humidity changes here. But that just gives me more reason to buy more.

We have some paint damage when removing them. But I was removing them improperly. It’s important to pull the strip straight down against the wall, slowly. Pull them too fast and they break, pull them away from the wall and they remove paint.
Meanwhile in the RV, I’ve got them holding towels, keys, hats and coats. Simply marvelous.

We have A 2019 North Point. Command strips work on the shower walls and places like steel and plastic. However, when we put a clock on the wall it bubbled the wallpaper and the clock fell down when the command strip came loose. The wall paper is still bubbled.

Hey Cliff and Annette
Is this the typical wall material being used now on Jaycos? I have heard conflicts that it is wallpaper and others that it is the wall and is not paper. Might you post a photo of the bubbled area? I would so appreciate it.

I thank everyone for their replies. And I am considering the support group or maybe buying stock!

Take a 2ft piece of dental floss and use a sawing motion to remove them.

How about a Command strip bike rack?
