I just bought some deflappers after having our awning half-tearing off during a recent windstorm. I'd be interested in what the exact products I would ask for would be for the ratchet straps. Where do they attach to the awning?

I tried to explain it in another thread, but thought it simpler to take a picture of it. This is how I do it.

I have the screen room option and will tell you that the legs on the ground (staked down) is the only way to go... that being said if you dont have the screen room ROLL IT UP...

When I had my popup, I had two options, connect the awning poles to the camper, or stake them to the ground. I found staking to the ground always worked best, along with the deflappers. I left that awning up in all kinds of weather and never had an issue. I wonder, do the awning channels and brackets that mount to the bottom of the camper come off? I see what looks like two holes for stakes in the end of those channels where it attaches to the bottom of the camper. Has anyone staked them to the ground?
I just find it a pain to pull out the awning, put in the awning, pull out the awning, etc. I did get those straps with the coil springs, and the stakes that thread into the ground, and they seem to offer good stability.
