Shower Door Sweep

Hi all. I know there have been a number of similar posts regarding this subject but after reading about half a dozen I didn't find any that actually answered my question. How do I remove the old, now damaged, shower door sweep. I realize that it slides on the bottom of the door but I can't figure out what keeps it from just sliding off. I thought the side of the door where the handle is might need to come off so I removed a screw at the top and another at the bottom but the edge didn't seem to want to come right off and I was afraid if I forced it the door might fall apart. That wouldn't be good. I found several suggestions on replacement door sweeps but no one said how to remove the old one. Thanks for your help with this.

Jeff

The process will depend on the type of shower door(s) and door sweep you're working on. Pictures would help us identify what you have.

Good idea. I'll give it a try.

Not sure if you have this model shower enclosure, but this thread from the Heartland forum may help.

Thanks for the link JFlightRisk. The shower in the diagram looks like the one I have. The post talks about the door sweep just pulling off but mine seems like it slides in the door. I'm going to study the top sweep tomorrow because it's much easier to see and hopefully the bottom is the same set up. Thanks for your help.

My pleasure. I hope you find a good fix. It seems fairly common throughout different RV brands that use your style of enclosure.

Ok, I went to the trailer this morning and was able to remove the bottom sweep. It definitely slides into a groove on the bottom of the door and does NOT slide over it. Here's a picture of it. You can see the groove formed by the "fins" that clip into the slot on the bottom of the door. It's 22 inches long. Now I just need to find the correct replacement.
