Norcold fridge problem

Hello all I just purchased a 2020 jayco Redhawk f31. The fridge works great on propane but when it is plugged in it does not work. Checked all the fuses are good and there is power to the outlet. Not sure where to start.

Could be a bad heating element. Only way to test is with a meter and check the resistance with it unplugged from the circuit board. Can't remember if there is a fuse on the circuit board for the element or not.

Since you verified 120 volts is available at the fridge's outlet (I assume that is the outlet you tested), the next step as mentioned would be to check the heating element (may have 2). There may also be a relay in the circuit that controls the power to the heating element. What model fridge do you have?

Check out the videos that Darren has here:

He's the best at diagnosing everything, and I'm sure I've seen one on just that problem.

I can feel the exhaust piece that the propane heats and that is getting warm. I will check the heating element maybe it's not getting hot enough. Thank you all.

Check and be sure the flu baffle has not dropped down, it looks like a corkscrew and held in place by a wire. That will draw heat away when on electric. Had that happen years ago.

Norcold n8x I have tried everything I am going to replace the control board.that is the only thing I can think of since it works fine on propane.

I downloaded the manual and had to remove the non-English section in order to be able to meet the max forum size limit. I have attached it.

It mentions fault codes. Did you get any indication of a fault code?

As far as replacing the board, yes that may fix it provided the heating element is OK. You can measure the 120 volt output from the board going to the heating element. If it measures 120 volt then the board is not the problem as all it does is send the voltage to the element.

Good luck!
