What year is my Jayco Sportster?? Help!

My husband and I bought this camper recently and it needs a lot of work. Any stickers, plaques or anything else with a possible model number has been rubbed off. I believe it’s somewhere in the mid 1980’s or early 90’s but can’t be sure. All I know its for an 8ft bed and its a Jayco Sportser.

Can't you do a VIN search, it would indicate the year.

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State!

From my limited recollection, Jayco made a Sportster 7, 8, and 9 1/2 up until around '98. The model number corresponded to the length, the longer one with a rear overhang past the rear of the truck box.

Somewhere there should be a VIN number on or in it. Did the PO give you a registration certificate or title to it?

Yep, 97 was their last year for truck campers.
