Lift springs and tracks rusted

I recently purchased a Jayco 8’ truck camper. The lifts are froze in down position! I have sprayed PB Blaster down the shaft around outside and inside the post. Waiting to see if that works. After removing the stove and inverter I was able to get access to the crank area and under the sink where the pull cable attaches to the four corners. The crank had pulled two back screws up from the floor and two from the back wall! Fabricating a plate to attach to crank.

My question is this, how is the cable attached to the spring? I see how the cable is feeding back down the track. I assume welded?
I have not removed anything but the. Crank.

Wondering if I use something to tap on the end off the spring in the track to nudge it to move ?
Any input is appreciated

Lift posts are out

I removed the four posts from the corners of the camper. All we’re stuck due to rust. I’m able to salvage three by grinding off the rust from the second stage. The 1st stage I used a 3/4 thick piece of wood with 200 grit sand paper attached and was able to clean the inside fair enough! The fourth second stage was twisted ? Some real pressure was applied. The springs seem to be ok I’ll grease those. To reattach the crank I’ll probably go through the bottom side and attach a metal plate under the wing.
Not much out there in the way of repairing these Sporsters. So it’s an adventure 👍
