Suggestions for Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg TN

Anyone have any recommendations of a good campground in the Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg Tennessee area. Any suggestions for and against a particular campground would be appreciated.

I'd love to help ya but the last time we were there was in the early mid-1990's. We were there for July 4th at some local park, sitting in lawn chairs with our teenage kids, and saw Lee Greenwood perform "God Bless the USA". Wonderful memories!

What month are you going in? What amenities are important?

We recently stayed at the Twin Creek RV Resort. It is one of the nicest CGs we've ever stayed in. And, it is owned by former Minnesotans which is always a good thing. Nice people and quite convenient.

I have looked at Twin Creek. I may choose that one. We are going in August, I would like one that is kid friendly, with a swimming pool and play ground.

Eric,

I grew up camping at the Outdoor Resorts. Always a great time, but it has been a long time since I have been there. The most recent trips have been to the Jellystone. We like the fact that we can walk out the back of the CG and into the GSMNP.

We stayed at the adventure bound campground, in Gatlinburg, TN. Over Easter weekend this spring. It was great, just close enough and just far enough away. They have a pool, waterslide, playground, and fishing pond.
Their web page: http://www.abgatlinburg.com/index.php
Enjoy

New post on aging thread:

We were at River Plantation (Sevierville) for Thanksgiving week this year. Nice park. I was amazed at the number of parks around the area. If you're wanting to do the tourist deal around Pigeon Forge/Sevierville/Gatlinburg you'll have plenty to choose from. A word of 'caution' check the calendars for events like Car Shows in PF. The traffic gets really bad on those days. If you're looking for mountain/nature activity check the Great Smokey Mountain Nation Park. Lots of camps, absolutely beautiful area.
