BBQ Grill

Is there a place you can purchase a BBQ Grill that will plug into the quick connect on my 2017 GrayHawk without having to modify it to make it work.

This Flame King grill is an exact replica of what came with my Jayco. No mods required assuming you have a length of propane hose to connect from grill_to_QD on your camper.

It's not the best grill in the world by any stretch, but it works. I'm doing the mod for my Weber Q grill this spring, but I'm kind of a BBQ snob.

Camco makes a grill that plugs in to the low pressure quick connection on your rv.

I don't have one so I can't vouch for the quality or how well it works.

I have a Coleman NXT grill and thought about modifying it but decided to buy the adapter hose to connect to a 20 lb. tank. It's not that big of deal to bring the tank along and then I can still use the 1lb bottles if I want to.

Modding a Weber Q-series grill to use the trailer's quick connect isn't that hard or expensive. I modded our Q1000 based on write-ups I've read here and other places, and I'd do it again in a second.

I ordered this grill
Nexgrill 2-Burner Portable Propane Gas Table Top Grill in Stainless Steel 820-0033 at The Home Depot - Mobile
And this supply line
https://www.amazon.com/Camp-Chef-RV-.../dp/B000H87M9M

Very happy with price and performance. All I had to do was unscrew the hose the grill came with and screw in the camp chef hose. Fits the quick connect great!

The cheap one that came with my new White Hawk works just fine... For how long I don't have a clue, but it's good enough for now.

I've wondered how this grill works. I find the Weber Q1200 w/ its ~8000 btu to be pretty weak when it comes to putting out the heat. Plus its heavy and a pain in the backside to keep clean. It IS reliable though.

I've had one of the Weber Q grills for about the past 10 years. Even though the BTU is low, it's been the better grill option for me even when I had 3 others. As for hard to clean, I just drop the grill into a rubbermaid bin with a dishwasher puck and let it soak overnight. Usually comes up almost good as new for the next use with essentially no scrubbing. The coated cast iron really isn't much of a pain to clean.

Almost all BBQ's, grills and stoves for RV's and home use are for high pressure LP gas. The quick connect LP on Jayco's and most RV's are plumbed after the LP regulator and are low pressure thus most appliance will not work. They will be able to work after the regulator on them are removed as other posters have indicated.

I picked a Nextgrill from Costco, 20,000 btu, little larger than this one, cost was also $99.. I'm impressed, Had the Q but took forever to heat up especially when windy. Used this half dozen times at home to check it out, heats up fast, easy clean up cooks great.

Mod I'm working on is redwood "box" for 20lb tank and also for grill. Mostly to transport them without issues. I'll post a picture when I finish them. Note.. made out of the redwood pickets, so really cheap. 20 lb tank box will be about $6, grill box little more.

Jopopsy,

When I purchased my trailer, I negotiated with the dealer to throw in the "RVQ" grill and bumper-mount attachment at no cost. I believe the RVQ is the one Jayco uses. On the + side, it did come with 2 hoses: one with a regulator for 1# bottles, and one without a regulator (for use on your trailer's quick-connect). That grill didn't even last through the first summer. The heat/drip shields were permanently attached, so there was no way to clean the grill. After 2 months, it started shooting flames from around the flame control knob. Scared the snot out of me! so I scrapped it. Would NOT recommend it!

Ended up buying the "NexGrill" from Home Depot. On this grill, the flame control knob is not attached to the regulator, so it's easy to modify the hose to attach to your quick connect. I actually used the hose that come with the RVQ. Just cut off the female quick-connect (the side that attached to the grill), and replaced it with a barbed hose fitting x female flared gas fitting (can't remember the sizes). Held the barbed hose fitting in place with a couple of hose clamps and all is good! This grill has 2 burners with auto spark ignition & good flame control, the heat/drip shields just lift off for cleaning, and it has a large grease tray. Works really well, and I would recommend it!
