Does anyone use awning clips?
I am thinking of buying some awning clips. My mom and dad winter in Texas where they get high winds. They say that most people in their trailer park have awning clips and almost never pull their awnings in.
Has anyone here tried them? If so, how many per side? What brand?
Thanks

I purchased one set of these -

after our last camping trip. I tried them out in the driveway and one set on my awning holds up really well. My parents are permanent site campers and they told me about these because of the size of the awning, it'll really stabilize it.

My Carefree of Colorado awning came equipped with anti-flapper clamps. However, after a couple of seasons the plastic bowed and they would no longer hold the awning no matter how tight I made them. So I invested in a pair of anti-flapper clamps like Type-A, in the previous post, uses. I've been using them for over 10 seasons now and... they still hold (I've never had one let go) and the awning's still there.

I would but they don't work on the electric awning due to arm shape.

I use these and they hold the awning tight and keep it from flapping in the wind.

I picked up a set of these at Walmart while camping at Gulf State Park last month. I was skeptical of them so it took me awhile to finally breakdown and try them, but they actually do a really good job.

Thanks for that suggestion. I will check Walmart first as they are sure to be cheaper than the dealer.

I purchased the Carefree clips that stay attached to the arm of the awning.

I used them in Yuma last winter. They work and you don't hear the flapping BUT if it is windy and it is a strong wind then pull in your awning unless you want to buy a new one. Saw several that needed to be changed in February. I talked to a mobile awning replacement guy who just smiled and said business is good. I bought my flappers at Walmart for 9.95 a pair, exact same ones at a RV parts store were 10 bucks more.

Do the they roll up with the awning or do you have to take them off everytime? Sounds like a good idea to get them.

My Carefree of Colorado Spirt awning came with permanently attached swivel clamps from the manufacturer, and they are 8 years old and still hold well, even in some pretty good winds.

Take them off each time. But they keep the awning tight and secure.

We use 2 sets - 2 on each end of the awning about spaced to make the distance about equal between them and the ends. With the quick thunderstorms that come up down here they are a lifesaver. Using the same Camco but got one set from Wally and one from Camping World.

I bought two sets.. one from Walmart and one from the dealership. I asked my parents to choose which I should keep since they have seen them in use more than me.
They chose the Walmart ones which in Canada cost $25 a set instead of $10.. nice markup.. and our government always asks us not to cross border shop...
I would have got them in the USA.. but I don't have time for a trip this week and with the cost of gas, I would still be paying the $25..
