How's the camping around 4 corners monumnent area?
Loading up the motorcycle into the toyhauler for a week of riding around the Colorado, New Mexico area right after labor day, and was wondering how the camping is around there... any recommendations or what to avoid. I'm fine with boon docking as well as basic amenities type sites.

+2 on Navajo Lake, It's both on the Colorado and New Mexico sides. Take your pick. There are plenty of sites near Durango and north from there up to Grand Junction. That highway north of Durango, thru Silverton and beyond is beautiful and just great for a bike or sports car....curvey and mountainous. Just don't do it in the winter. LOL...lots of snow.
Might also want to consider Mesa Verde Prrk, SW of Durango...Anasazi cliff dwellings...pretty cool. Then there's Moab Utah with the Canyonlands and Arches National Park.
Have a great time and enjoy.
Happy RVing,
Jeff

Not sure how far south but El Morro National Monument in Havnfun's area is great place to visit. There's Ice caves, a volcano and a & buffalo roaming in the same area. Easily a couple days. If you get to Utah ............. too many places for a months worth. Grand Canyon both rims. Try this site for places to see, I been working my way through the lists for years and am just making a good dent in them. I'd full time RV if I could but too many commitments at the fixed home.

Not sure if you have done Wolf Creek Pass but it's a trip on a M/C, I was lucky no blue lights.

Lake Heron and El Vado in Chama New Mexico. Jemez mountains are great. Check out Jacks Creek in Santa Fe National Forest (Pecos Wildneress). 9000 ft great place. Navaho Lake lacks trees but it is very large. Poagosa Springs is great area.
