Solar to trickle charge batteries

We have a solar ready jayco we just bought. We were thinking about using a portable solar system to trickle charge the batteries when in storage. Hang the panel on the ladder and plug into the side solar connection. Has any one else done this?

Or you can connect directly to house battery with alligator clips that the solar panels come with. I used a small 10w panel when our Greyhawk use to stay at a storage facility. I kept a 2nd panel on the chassis battery during the winter.

I have a couple of these 10-watt solar panels and I have one sitting in my truck dash area and always plugged into an always "hot" 12V connector. It definitely makes a big difference on my truck start battery during the winter months...

I built up a new battery bank here recently and the Torklift battery case came with one of these 10W-solar panels mounted on one end of the slide off lid. I purchased a second 10WATT Solar Panel to add to the other end of the slide off top. My battery bank consists of two 6V Battery groups and these two 10 Watt solar panels does very well being used as a trickle charge for the two 6V battery groups...

I use a 7.5w solar charger to keep the battery topped off while in the storage facility between trips. Works great and unbelievably it hasn't walked off yet. Clips right to the battery.

I ended up going with this solar charger as it has an adapter to plug into the cigarette lighter to keep the battery charged. I have it attached to my window on top of the cab, and the cord that came with it is sufficiently long enough to plug right in. IT has a charge controller built in so as not to potentially overcharge as the sun in GA can be fierce .
