Tomorrow is the day.

I pick up my Jayco 26BH tomorrow at 11:00 am. I'll be taking along a notepad and a pen to write down what I'm sure I'll forget.

I have to say that I am little nervous about towing it through Memphis city traffic to get home, but I'll figure it out.

I considered getting the dealer to install a Furrion FOS48TAPK-BL observation camera, but when I called the parts department he suggested that I install it myself and save myself over $100. Then he told me how much it was there and I realized that I can save myself another $100-plus by ordering it from Amazon.

I've done a lot of homework on my truck's towing capacity, GVWR, GCWR and such. Dry weight, I'm about 3000 pounds under the limit across the board, so I should be okay. They're going to put a weight distribution hitch on my truck when I pick it up.

At least I made the appointment for 11:00 am so that I would have time to walk through, take notes and get home before rush hour starts.

I do have a question, though. I'm driving a 2013 F150. The 26BH is 96" wide. I plan on ordering tow mirrors and having them installed, but just to get it home should I pick up some clip-on mirror extenders or will the stock mirrors on the truck work?

Enjoy your big day tomorrow. Maybe instead of notes take some videos with your phone, they give you so much info its brain overload and its hard to write everything down. Yes you are better off installing and buying your goodies on Amazon, most are easy to install. On your trip home just take your time, your standard mirrors will work fine for now, just remember you have a lot behind you so give the trailer lots of room and make wide corners like you are driving a semi truck

If you're in a large suburban area I'd get some tow mirrors, even just for a short tow home. With stock mirrors, you can't see down the sides, where traffic passing you will be. Maybe the dealer will be a nice guy, and let you borrow a set, to get it home. Take your time on the PDI. If the tech goes too fast, SLOW HIM DOWN. It's YOUR time. Great idea to take notes. Be sure you have a decent grasp of all the systems before you leave. Then, if any questions pop up, you can ask 'em HERE!

Congrats on the new camper. I was extremely nervous when we picked ours up. Ended up being one of the best days of 2016 for us.

Thanks, folks.

This is a big step up from my 1206 pop-up. I used it primarily during hunting season and year before last it got down to 19 degrees. I wouldn't say it was brutal, but it was tough. This should be much better, especially with the enclosed and heated underbelly.

I'll probably pick up an inexpensive pair of clip-on tow mirrors just to be safe.

I tow with a 2013 F-150, also.
I purchased:

Fit System 81810 Ford F-150 Towing Mirror - Pair

on Amazon (around $50). They work pretty good and have a factory look. The only drawback is that there is a little vibration in the mirror at highway speed. Not bad, but noticeable. They work well in concert with the rear view camera.

Thanks. That's just about what I was thinking of getting.
