My favorite is ELKMONT CAMP which has no hookups of course...

If we want to get closer to towns then we go to the RIVEREDGE RESORT which is just inside Pigeon Forge coming from Gatlinburg and has hookups...

Townsend is a great place to stay if you need hookups... Close to everything but not in the middle of it...

Camping off the power gird and no hookups are our cup of tea.... North Carolina has many such places in the two or three Natl Forest camping spots...

Pigeon Forge Roy? That seems about as opposite of your kind of camping as it gets. We drove through to go to Walmart and then avoid the area the rest of the week.

So we're in it with you - looking for a nice place specifically in the Asheville area. Any suggestions, anyone?

CAMPFIRE LIGHTS is in Weaverville NC, about 6 miles from Asheville, beautiful mountin views, if you're going in the fall anywhere in western NC would suggest you reserve now
