We have a 9-day trip to southern Nevada (Echo Bay/Valley of Fire) in early April and another 9-day trip to southern Utah (Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab) in mid-September. In between those we have a few closer to home - Washington coast and central Oregon. Lots to see out west...

We have a two week+ trip planned in May we are going to the following campgrounds. And plan on checking out anything local to them while there.

Natchez State Park, Mississippi
Foscue Creek COE, Demopolis, Alabama
Duckett Mill COE, Georgia
Twin Lakes COE, South Carolina
Falling Waters State Park, Florida
Davis Bayou Gulf Shores National Park, Missississippi

Then in September planning two more weeks to Arkansas and Missouri.

We discovered Lake Champagne Campground in Randolph, VT last year and fell in love with it.

We think it's a great location for Burlington, Stowe, etc. and we'll probably also take a day trip to Montreal. It also close to many of the Scenic Byways.

Thanks for your reply! That's very interesting, I was just telling DW about Lake Champagne CG and Moose River CG in St. Johnsbury, VT a couple of weeks ago. Both seem highly rated. Glad to here you like it. We will definitely have to try it out.

Up till now we've primarily stayed at VT State Parks with our pop-up. We just purchased our first TT in November and are looking to venture out.

We will also hit up Winhall Brook CG in South Londonderry, VT a couple of times this summer. We went there with one of our friends that have a large 5er and kids the same age as ours last summer and liked it a lot. It is very similar to a State Park with large sites and trees, some sites have water and electric unlike the state parks. No sewer on sites but they do have a dump station. It is run by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

One of our favorite state parks in VT is Button Bay in Vergennes. We will most likely return there again in June & August.

We are also going to try and venture into NH possible in the White Mountains, RI and MA this summer.

Any suggestions for campgrounds in Western MA?

Cheers!

We will be going to Crown Point Campground in Perkinsville, VT for 4 days around the 4th of July, then in early August going to Winhall Brook Campground in South Londonderry, Vt. Other potential trips are to the seacoast area of New Hampshire in late July and maybe going back to Sugar Ridge RV park in Danville, VT. We went there last year and is a great campground. All these trips depend upon work schedules and other events.

Nothing big or far from home scheduled yet. Easter weekend we will be at our local state park, Jordan Lake. End of April we are attending the NCFCRV Spring Rally at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort. Memorial Day will be here at home, as the Hot air ballon festival is less than a mile from the house so we will be watching them from the front porch. The TT may end up being a guest house.

Two years ago we decided to take one big trip each year, along with a lot of shorter weekend and holiday trips. We wanted to do this before my daughter got to old and maybe not want to hang out with us so much. Our long trip is always at the end of summer, as my daughter goes to Camp Lake Hubert in Brainerd MN for the first part. This year we are heading east for the very first time. Our goal is to spend 5 days in Massachusetts on Cape Cod. On the trip there and back we will have extended stopovers in Sault St Marie, Niagara Falls, and Chicago. Should be fun. Maybe Chicago not so much, but my daughter wants to see the windy city.

After we get our 195 next week.. off to Arizona and New Mexico in April-May..

Maybe here near the Allagash in August for the 50th anniversary of that waterway.

And in July ..Ontario. Rossport to kayak for a week.

We've really thought about that 2000 watt generator for a/c and wonder if we will have to use A/C in AZ and NM..

Here in Maine everyone boondocking never uses it anytime in the summer. Its often in the 60's for a high.

So this is all a grand adventure

We'll do a repeat of last year and head to the Pacific Northwest for 10 to 12 weeks during the summer to escape the summer heat here in the desert. Most of the time we'll spend in Oregon and Washington, but we might take a jaunt into British Columbia as well.

We usually take 1 big trip a year to the Davis Mountains in west Texas. It's an 8.5-9 hour drive. We plan on going again this year but we will also head over to Big Bend state park, which is about 2 hours from Ft. Davis state park.

Our big trip for this summer is to Beaver Island by car ferry 35 miles out into northern Lake Michigan. We will boondock camp for 14 days right on the beach, taking our mountain bikes and 10 foot inflatable dinghy with a 9.9hp outboard for lots of fishing, pull some great salmon and trout out of the lake. The island has a very small town with a few stores for supplies and a restaurant or two. Its just time to relax, turn off the cell phones, watch some of the most beautiful sunsets and the northern lights along with millions of stars, since we are so far out into the lake there is no light pollution and the sky is pitch black.

If this is the first time at Misty Mt, get a site at the bottom by the office/store. The rest of them are seriously uphill, and makes for a very long walk to the pool (behind the office/store). Been there! Some really fine wineries in that area.

The 'big' trip this year is going to be Niagara Falls. I've got to get on researching campgrounds and staying options.

We go to VA every year to stay in the mountains and visit family as well, some time in northern michigan, and a bunch of local weekends.

With the boy in kindergarten this year and me working from home, I'd like to do a boys long trip somewhere this summer when he's on summer break. Not sure where yet.

We, happy band of newbies, are headed to Maine this summer with our two dog pals. Doing and learning about trailer camping has been a lot of fun. This Forum has helped a lot. Best to you all in your travels.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure that is where we are - friends that we are meeting there live close and scoped it out - they called me from the office and I made my reservation. We are looking forward to it!

Stricklines: We stop many times going and coming in Georgia at exit 3 and 7, just before Florida. Let me know if you are interested in a few great and inexpensive overnight places.
