Newcomers from Memphis
Just picked up our new Jay Series 1206 from the local dealership on Saturday. While no stranger to camping on the road, I will say camping in a PUP will be new to me.
My usual adventures were on my motorcycle (Honda Shadow Aero 750) that easily carried all the camping gear I needed (sleeping bag, 1 man tent, a duffle bag for my clothes and my fly fishing gear....what more does a man need). Have made more than a few trips to Colorado for extended trips and shorter ones to Eastern TN and NW Arkansas. However, all good things must come to an end.......certain health issues now prevent me from taking off like that. Translation - wife just won't allow it anymore by myself.
Traded the bike in on the camper and now both of us will be able to get away and some times haul the grand kids with us. I'm a retired Architectural designer / Major Project Sr. Manager and my wife Lisa is a lawyer with the Public Defender's Office here.
Our first dry run will take place in about 3 weeks....we are in the middle of a whole house renovation project and will be having the entire electrical and HVAC systems upgraded and replaced which will necessitate having the power disconnected for about 2 weeks. The plan is to live in the PUP during that time in the backyard. Fortunately the bathroom facility will remain in tact, but we will have a temp power source for the contractors and a 30 amp outlet for the PUP.......just hoping the weather cooperates. In the last 36 hours we have gotten almost 6" of rain.
This should be fun......right?

It probably will be.
Either now, or the stories told later.

Welcome from Northwest Indiana. I'm sure you'll like the additional comforts of the PUP. Should be an interesting adventure.

We lived in our TT on the side of our house for almost a month while we were tiling our floors. It was great that we were right there if any issues came up and it was comfortable. We did not have access to our bathrooms or laundry during that time so having the TT was great. We are on a busy street so we did have traffic noise. I just pretended we were at a KOA.
We had our PUP for almost 10 yrs and loved every minute of it. We ended up trading it in on a TT because DH wanted a hard sided unit to have a few more amenities. We had 6 cross country trips with our PUP, loved it. We do miss the gas mileage now.
Good luck with the remodel. Enjoy the time in the PUP.
