Hiking, writing, reading, talking with my wife, dreaming, astronomy . . .
The views expressed may not be mine in five minutes.

Most of our local camping trips are on the shore of Lake Michigan so everything is water related. We take our ten foot inflatable Zodiac boat with a 9.9 Merc to do some salmon and trout fishing, if the winds are blowing out come the kite boards, and if its a gloomy or rain day its mountain biking.

Cameras pointing up with long exposures, telescopes for instant gratification, bicycles, and anything RC in the air - heli, quad, fixed wing.
Mostly just sitting around, doing anything but work.

We always enjoy: minor RV repairs, campfire, sex, relaxing (not always in that order)
We sometimes enjoy: biking, kayaking, hiking, fishing (not always in that order)

Making fires and stout cocktails at noon, reading magazines I never managed to catch up with at home, spending time with my daughter outside - unplugged. Fishing (or at least having the option), exploring, making stupid things out of pieces of wood / twigs, whatever. Watching the dogs 'hunt' mystery meat / rodents from his leash. Meeting new people, taking advantage of our new camper, POOPING in my camper, oh... and depending on where we are, shooting some of my firearms that don't get a lot of attention (BLM, hunting trips, no booze during this activity-- you know...)
I could write a book on this, should. I'm not nearly as red-neck as that post sounds, but that's what I do lol.

Sitting around the campfire, drinking beer, catching up on my reading, going hiking, attending festivals, going to farmer's markets, napping, stargazing...

Getting out on the water. We take our porta-bote with us when we travel. Sometimes we wet a line, sometimes we just tool around the lake.
Here it is mounted on our trailer:
Here's what it looks like when on the water (this isn't us, just a photo I grabbed off the internet)

A lot depends on where we are at. We rarely go to a private RV park. So most of the time we pick places where we can go for long hikes, bike rides. The dog loves all the extra walks and bike rides. If there is water, Fishing is usually high on my list, with making my own lures at night, or as I am sitting around. With the HTT, we have yet to bring our canoes (need a roof rack).
Dewey02, love the boat! do you haul it inside the TT? have a weblink you can share?

That is a pretty slick looking boat! very nice!
We usually just Relax, play games, go hiking, cook over the fire 100% of the time, explore the area, argue about backing in etc.
This year i am looking at getting a DSLR so i can take some decent photo's of some of the beautiful areas we tend to visit.

We didn't realize it at first but...
My wife and I must love to start every trip with an argument that inevitable has something to do with my ability to spot the camper and her ability to guide me. Then we collectively transition from that into ordering our kids around to help set up.
Next, about 90 min in, things settle down and we pour a couple drinks light a fire and decompress.
The next day(s) are generally spent hiking, kayaking, biking and just generally relaxing.
On get away day we typically have another argument with the kids about helping break down and cleaning up the ever annoying kids trash that always makes it on the ground...you know box drink straw wrappers, pop tabs and that inevitable little shred of a Hershey wrapper from smore's the night before.
And finally as we are cleaning up the trailer after getting home we question our commitment to camping over hotel/resort type vacations where there is someone to do everything for you...and then we laugh because we LOVE CAMPING.

We like to sight see, take naps, take walks, drink a bit, take naps, sit by the fire, play board games or cards, watch movies, eat at local places unique to where we're staying, have a few drinks by the fire, have a beer while grilling dinner, play at the beach all day and bring a picnic...
Occasionally, we will bring the canoe, or our bikes if appropriate.
We really like to just take it easy though. We have friends who are all go, no stop when they go on vacation. That's not vacation to us, we need time to "decompress" and unplug. We need to slow down a little. Our daily life is fast enough, we need the quality time together.

I never go to just camp. I am either fishing, flying models at a competition, or something the wife wants to do. I almost always have my guitar and love being out by a fire with a little music flowing out of me... and a little booze flowing in...

When camping, the first, by a long mark is relax and visit with friends.
Then we might consider walking down to the falls for a nap.
There's cooking, fixes to the RV, campfire....
Heading into town to look at the other antiques.

No. We haul it mounted on the side of the trailer - That IS the boat (folded up) on the side of the trailer in the first photo. It folds to be only 4" thick, so it keeps me legal as far as the trailer width goes (but just barely!). The boat weighs 70 lbs. I can carry and set up by myself, but it goes easier when my spouse helps me.
The transom and seats give the boat it rigidity when you put it together, which takes about 15 minutes (often longer, as it draws a crowd and I end up having to answer questions). The transom, seats and my 40lb trolling motor fit in a large duffel bag that I store in the bed of my pickup.
Here is the link to a video: https://youtu.be/RzEy74NZuss
And here's the link to porta-bote's website: https://www.porta-bote.com/
