Some other brand owners

Some Other Brand Owners Check In Here

This thread is for those members that may have moved on to another brand for whatever reason or have another brand but are interested in Jaycos and wish to continue to enjoy the benefits and friendly banter here at JOF. This is NOT the place to vent or rant about your previous Jayco and any such posts will be removed.

Had a 23RB, it just wasn't big enough. So got a Sunset Trail Superlite 250RB with a slide.
Was having trouble selling the jayco so traded it in on a Windjammer 3001W which I have left in florida.

Would really like to replace both of them with a jayco 336fbok.

Looking at a 2018 Cosmic Blue Dynamax DX3 BH. Sooo tired of this tankless HWH and the furnace blower noise. I want an Aqua-Hot, and this will give it to me. If I do decide to get one, I'll give the kids the Seneca. Big bucks, but a lot of goodies. I'm ready to pull the trigger, but it all comes down to the DW!

I'm about to buy a Little Guy (as some of you know) but wish Jayco made a trailer that size and even shape, sort of. With a bathroom would be nice. Some Little Guys have bathrooms but not this one, they cost a bunch more. It's a little trailer but nice design and easy for a single lady moving around to deal with hitch wise. Hope it works out, will let y'all know.

Wonder why others don't post here? It's been idle for quite a bit now... maybe no one never, ever moves away from Jayco, maybe they're ashamed of themselves? Maybe they left the forum, although why anyone would do that is beyond me.

When we were looking to replace our Jayco 24FB, we both fell in love with the Whitehawk 27DSRL. Price was great and the layout was PERFECT for us. Sadly I was concerned with weight and length. We purchased a Shadow Cruiser 225 RBS. It is a nice little trailer but it is NO Whitehawk. I have not had any big issues but things like almost glued cabinet door panels popping lose, no access to bedroom with slide in, and a cheap cook stove that requires a match to light shows the real quality. As far as towing our 5.4 Ford does ok with this little light weight but as much as it struggles on hills, anything over 5K pounds would be a BAD experience.

Jayco does, it is a single axle 145RB that's as small you can get, also available in Baja edition.

Prior to buying our 28RLS we owned a KZ Spree Escape E204S for six years. We put 7,800 running miles on it an 130 nights sleeping in it. A few minor problems but overall it help up nicely. In fact the last time we camped in it we pulled into our site and the guy next to me ask if it was new.

We were seriously looking at the KZ Spree Connect 281RL before purchasing the 28RLS (same floorplan) but no one within 400 miles of us had one. If the Jayco holds up as well as the KZ we'll feel fortunate.

I didn't find it, is it a popup? I'm not allowed a popup, seems I break them to easily. Hi ALJO how's your day going?

I remember that one now, I couldn't find one in my price range, in good enough condition, not close enough or on the route to my 1st location. Also, it was borderline when loaded for my vehicle, below limits but close enough to be worrisome. I'll look again when I get to Michigan, maybe they have one on the lot that can be changed to, or not. Thanks again ALJO

Check this little number out. Made here in SC and they have a good local reputation.

I have seen used ones listed online.

Earlier this year (March), we traded in our '08 GH31ss for a Mesa Ridge 2410RL Lite, has two theater seats with heating/massage, a dinette slide, bath in the center, and BR up front. We just wanted something with more comfortable seating for us, as the GH was short on comfortable seating for us. Since Highland Ridge and Jayco are in the same corporate family, works for us. LOL

We had a Jayco 27DSRL and liked it (Pic in our Sig). But after 2 years decided to get something a bit bigger with more amenities. Went to the Hershey Show spent 2 days looking around (the show is 11+ Acres) looked @Jayco Fivers & most other brands. Found a KZ Durango 281RLT that we knew would work perfectly for us, similar floorplan to the Jayco 28.5 RSTS. Found many similarities but felt the Fit & Finish better on the KZ. KZ also offered a 2 year warranty.

Put over 8000 miles in the past 2 years without any issues. Two weeks ago repacked the Bearings and did find most of the Nylon Bushings in the springs deteriorating. Replaced all and a couple of Shackles and Bolts. Will replace with Wet Bolts/Bronze Bushings next winter. Heading West to Colorado then back thru Arkansas next month, all over Pa in August, & Maine/New Hampshire in September so feel better about the updated Suspension.

Overall a great Fifth Wheel and very happy with purchase.

And now that KZ & Jayco are 'cousins' I can still enjoy this great forum.

Put another 7,000 miles + on the Durango. Really have enjoyed this Fiver. Have done some modifications to our liking.

Sitting now in Sebastian Inlet State park, Florida enjoying the 78 degree weather. Fishing has been fantastic in the Ocean & the Indian river.

Heading to St. Augustine (Anastasia SP)for a couple of days, then Paynes Prairie Preserve SP, then Savanna, then Charleston, SC (James Island County Park)for a week. Will then move North following the Spring weather LOL

Traded in my Jayco a couple years ago to get something bigger with slides. Still come around here to see what I would be missing if I left.

Not a rant, but I had a Forest River Sunseeker for all of 6 months and now I'm back w/ another Jayco. Take from that what you will. Nice to be 'home' though.

I traded my Melbourne 31b for a Grand Design Reflection 5th wheel with a mid bunk.
The Melbourne was a good machine , reasonable price (used) and it got us 9000 miles of adventure . On to the next phase of snowbirding that the 5th wheel will allow.
