Alante standard equipment

Any other Alante owners know if we can use the cable connection in the wet bay to bring a satellite signal in from a mobile dish? Obviously a receiver is required on the inside, attached to the cable outlet by the main tv.

Also, where is the inverter located, what are the brand/model and what is its output rating?

I found out the inverter is a Xantex Pro 1000. Too bad it is not the 1800 model...
Still wondering about the cable/Dish question! I know there are not many Alante owners out there yet so hopefully someone knows this answer.

Yes you can use the cable for a portable dish. You must disconnect the cable from the TV amp connection behind the panel in the cabinet above the sink (2016 26X) Mine was not originally connected at the factory. On my unit the cable connects to the center of three on the TV Amp. I also changed all the coax connectors as the factory installed screw-on connectors were poorly installed.

I think my 31v is setup a little different. I have two dish connectors in the cabinet above the main tv on one plate marked lnb 1 and lnb 2, I assume for the prewired cables in the roof. Then I have another connector under those marked Ant, which goes to the powered antenna in the roof. Sounds like in order to use the Ant connection for a portable dish I will need to disconnect the powered antenna or run another rg6 along side and add another connector in the cabinet.

Agree, if you want to use both park cable and portable satellite. I used a Tracker/Tracer to trace the coax from the basement to the panel in the overhead cabinet. I added a coax wall plate that I marked sat in the cabinet. I will run a second coax to the basement for park cable eventually if necessary. I found that behind the one marked antenna there were 3 coax cables, the center one was for park cable. That is the cable that I re-purposed for portable satellite, I just rerouted it to the new wall plate. The two connectors marked LNB 1&2 go into the roof. Again, I recommend changing the factory coax connectors to quality compression connectors as the screw-on connectors may not be suitable for satellite.

What is a Tracker/Tracer? Do you have a link of one I can see? I know my King Portable Dish has two screw on connectors so I should be good there!

The one I used was similar to this (different brand); a great multi-purpose tool. Also know as fox and hound. https://www.amazon.com/Sperry-Instru.../dp/B00279JLBQ

For those of us who use them professionally they are called a "Toner". Google "cable toner". If you go into an electrical wholesale house and ask for a Fox and Hound they're going to sent you to Pet Pro's.
