Generator question

I think i know the answer to this we have a 2015 precept when we were traveling the other day.I wanted to run the AC had a half a tank of fuel , hilly Terrain noticed that the generator shut off on me a couple times is that because the pickup line in the fuel tank is higher. I know when we are sitting at our house loading the RV and I run the generator and the AC works fine.

Normally the pickup tube is mounted higher in the tank, so once you reached 1/4 full it no longer draw any gas. This is to prevent you from running out of gas. Alsoy your gas gauge might be slightly miscalabrated.
