Passenger seat weld broke?

Our seat was loose if you pushed it side to side. Dealer said a weld broke under the seat.

It is still at shop. Happen to anyone else?

Love Jayco.

No, but curious / coincidence , as it is another weld issue. More of an fyi. Does mention passenger.

“ Potential Number of Units Affected: 148
Problem Description:
Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Entegra Anthem, Aspire, Cornerstone, and Reatta XL motorhomes. The pedestal mounting plate on the passenger's seat may be improperly welded, causing the plate to separate and the seat assembly to loosen or detach. As such, these seat assemblies fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 207, "Seating Systems" and number 210, "Seat belt assembly anchorages."

I guess my mind skipped over that part! Sorry. You going to get a new free frame and install? Yours is in the years listed.

We have an Alante, hoping the recall is expanded to include it. Dealer looking into with Jayco, my luck… probably not and extra cost. They mentioned “wear and tear” originally.

If they won’t fix it, tell them you will have to call and report it.

Notes

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

In process. Jayco has no concern to fix, got the below. They want me to contact Lippert.

http://www.nhtsa.gov/

“The recall for the luxury diesel seats are from another manufacturer.
Your seats were made by Lippert components.
Please feel free to contact them for any information pertaining to your seats.“

The recall that was referenced is for the ENTEGRA line diesel pushers and apparently was issued by Lippert. You have a Class "A" gas so I think that is apparently why you got the response you did.

Yep, it was the expected response, I originally emailed them to consider this for the Jayco Alante too.

Figuring they may follow-up / take ownership and say..."Oh, you have this issue on an Alante?, sorry to hear that, we will contact our superiors and look further into and get back to you."

Anyway, I told them we were going to file with the NHTSA.

.... then I go this back.

"Good afternoon,
I will add this information to case# 876424, that I opened for you.
Thank you,"

I put powerseats in my 2021 36h. I had to shorten the bases by 3 three inches so the seats would sit at the normal height. I was surprised how poorly the seat base riser was welded to the floor mounting plate. There was only about an inch of weld on each of the four sides of the base plate. I cut the welds, cut 3 inches out of the riser and welded all four sides completely.

The "crossbar" mounting plate is missing a weld. On mine that plate/bar is bolted to the bottom of the seat not welded.

Sounds like a Safety Defect to me. I would file a complaint with DOT NHTSA. That should light a fire under someone's seat.
