Response from Jayco
An overview of satellite wiring installed on 2015 Precepts built after 1/28/14 follows:
1) Unit prepped for roof mounted Winegard Mission, Winegard Travel'r DirectTV, or Winegard Travel'r Shaw domes/dishes. The wiring we install is compatible with all the Winegard satellite domes/dishes the customer listed below. It is also compatible with the RoadTrip MiniMax - but the Winegard is discontinuing the RoadTrip MiniMax. We've not seen the Winegard replacement for the RoadTrip MiniMax - but I'm told our wiring will be compatible with it as well. If I were self-installing a Travel'r on my motorhome I would install the optional SKA-004 plate for the LNB roller. Jayco installs reinforcement in the roof for attachment of dome/dish mounting legs... so SKA-008 plates aren't required when mounting Roadtrip Mission or Travel'r domes/dishes.
2) 12-volt power and ground wires run to roof satellite area from main TV area.
3) Winegard Travel'r control cable runs to roof satellite area from main TV area
4) One RG/6 coax runs from roof satellite area to main TV area, one RG/6 coax runs from roof satellite area to bedroom TV area, and one RG/6 coax runs from roof satellite area to exterior TV area. This means that when installing a ground based satellite dish the RG/6 coax pre-installed in the motorhome only works with a single satellite receiver located near the main TV.
5) A single RG/6 coax (for a ground satellite dish) runs from the exterior cable/satellite port to the main TV area.
6) The exterior hook-up is in the wet bay.
7) The multiple RG/6 coaxes from the satellite dome/dish do not connect to the TV's. They dead end near the location of each TV... meaning a satellite receiver could be installed at each TV location (if there is available space to mount a satellite receiver in that area).
8) There are no HDMI cables installed in the coach. Composite RCA cables run from a composite audio/video distribution box located (near the passenger side of the dash) to the main, bedroom, and exterior TV's. If customer installed satellite receiver has composite RCA cable output it can be connected to the audio/video distribution box using a composite "A-B" switch box and cable (for distribution to all TV's).
9) The assumption that "the satellite will be on a different input than the DVD player" is incorrect. A single composite RCA cable runs to each TV location - which means the customer will need to install a composite "A-B" switch box (DVD in "A" position and Satellite in "B" position) to enable selection of DVD or satellite viewing on all TV's.
The dash mounted radio is the DVD player for the entire motorhome. Sound for the dash mounted Am/Fm/Cd/DVD radio plays through the ceiling mounted speakers. Line level audio from the main living area TV is run to the dash radio auxiliary input, is amplified, and output to the ceiling speakers.
As far as outlets go, the dealer can add others.
Although asked, I didn't get an answer as to where to place each of the satellite receivers and/or a single to handle all 3 TVs. Most concerned about the awesome 40" at the dinette and where a receiver would go.
Any insights or advice from current owners would be helpful as Jayco themselves do not seem to want to answer having asked twice.
