Water Filter Mod
After years of camping, became suddenly concerned about water quality from campground city supplies. I added this Hydrolife 52141 which incorporates a rather high tech filter element that makes the water taste rather good while removing / mitigating some bad elements. I used left over metal curtain rod mounts to fasten the filter optional mount under my rear bumper. Also purchased a 4 foot whip hose to run from the filter to city connection. Adds really no additional set up time. The hose connections and housing are much more durable on this Hydralife filter than some of the other offerings out there. Of course this filter is not cheap but thinking about the effects of whats in water these days and durability of this filter, it was a no brainer.

I have one of these and it's worth every penny. Water is crystal clear and no unusual smell or taste. Between trips I keep the filter in the frig.

Thanks for the photos.
DW and I will be doing something similar, but don't have any specific plans yet.
The bracket will be a puzzle and probably under our slide out. The city water connection is on the side, near the slide, and directly above the sewer connections so I don't want to hang a filter there.

How long will a filter like that "live" between outings in the fridge?
Sometimes I think I'd like to have a better filter instead of using bottled (refill the 5 gal water cooler jug), but then I get a little nervous about the price. If we only use it for a couple days a month, I'd be afraid it wouldn't be any good...

I included a picture of my dual stage filter since it isn't completely visible in the picture when installed. I have a particulate filter as he first stage and a charcoal filter as the second stage. Both are 1 micron. Where I am now the particulate filter lasts 2-3 weeks. On my home base site it lasts for several months. I change the charcoal filter element once a year.

Mines in use for periods of 8-10 weeks at a time then in the frig for another 8-10 weeks. It's on it's 2 nd year this September so it might be time for a change out.
