Mr. James Hilliard, Thank you for the email and the question. When the units were being designed they were not sure which of the units wouldget EZ Lube axles and which ones would not get them. I understand the brochure stated that the unit was being built with them but that was the best information at the time it was printed and has since changed. The unit was built correctly and the EZ Lube axle were not part of that build. The dealer is correct, the SLX units do not have that option.

Wow --- that is a huge mistake by Jayco! Wonder if that is all Swifts? I could swear that 264BH I saw had them.

It appears the SLX lineup is a subset of the Jay Flight Swift series and has a unique equipment list. The tire and axle issues have been updated on the website. The factory advised they would validate the listed equipment so presumably it's correct now.

Nope. The brochure they published to the dealers is now wrong...I realize they have the standard disclaimer at the bottom that says "this is accurate at the time of publication", but it is wrong to have the customer be the one to discover the error after they purchase it. That is like saying - oh, we dont include an over anymore, just a cooktop. While it is a small thing, it does influence your overall purchasing decision between a swift and a flight.

Here is the online version that is still on the web site which shows EZ and 15"s. If I purchased one, I would sure give Jayco hell about that snafu.

When the Swift 26 first came out I remember the equipment list seemed very similar to the Jayflight 26 BH, yet the price is less so it must be a somewhat different animal or it would make little sense to offer it. There must be little things done differently here and there to account for the price difference, like 20 lb tanks instead of 30`s and the previously mentioned lack of EZ lube axles and there must be other small differences as well. It must have taken them awhile to update their website.

Good. Been really cold in Ohio this week, but yesterday was nice. I spent time installing the the sway control ball on the A frame yesterday, and modifying an old bike rack to fit my waste water tank. Don't know if there will be any need for it (I used it all the time with my pop-up). If it turns out that I will be using it, it is ready

Didi it not already have one on it or were you just upgrading the factory unit? I know my 97 pathfinder has one but was thinking about replacing it with a larger unit. Maybe just wasted money?

Also do you think the waste water tank will rub on the camper and cause any damage

The trailblazer has a small trans cooler in the radiator, but it is more or less ineffective.

I thought about the tank rubbing ... still thinking about something to prevent it. Ideas?

I am pretty good working on cars so how did you go about adding the new cooler? Did you replace the factory or just put the new one inline? Maybe on the tank something like this attached to the tank corners.

I got some q's if you dont mind. Is there room on the rear of the frame to put a hitch on the TT? The service guy said he needs about 1' of frame to put one on, but he wasn't sure since he hasn't had his hands on one yet. Just for my bicycles to take with us.

How does it profile behind your TV? Does it catch a lot of wind? Did it sway much behind you? Would a WD be enough to control the sway vs a sway control?

Sorry for all the questions, I just have soooo many!

Inline. The factory cooler is in the radiator, and it doesn't do too much actual cooling. I tapped into the fluid flow as it leaves the radiator, routed up to the after market cooler in front of the radiator/AC condenser. I did not tie it to the condenser using the zip tie-type fasteners that came with the cooler. Instead, I bolted the top of the cooler to a plastic frame that is behind the grill, and put together a little bracket for the bottom to bolt to part of the steel frame in the front of the vehicle.

I had to use the Dremel a little bit too, to get it to fit in there.

The bumper hangs about an inch lower than the frame, and about 8 inches out. Not sure if a hitch would be doable or not.

I had a little head wind driving it back from Cinci to Columbus, but it didn't feel that bad. As low as the camper is, it has to be as easy a profile as you can get, before going to a pop up, hi-lo, or teardrop, or something like that.

I had no sway on the trip. I have a friction sway control waiting to be installed, just in case. I do not have a WD hitch, and I have no experience using one, so I can't say much about that.

I just put a deposit on the very same model 154BH and have a couple of questions. The weight appears to be 2480, or say 2500 lbs, and is supposed to be the weight as the trailers stands..with all the add-ons like AC, awning, etc. (This is not a special order - it is in stock). Did you find that about right? That is about the top weight I would want to go since my car pulls 3500 with a trans cooler.

Also, I will be pulling it home about 135 miles without a sway bar. I want to see how it goes without one...do you think that would be okay? I am a woman alone, and although this is my second trailer, it is a little bigger than I am used to pulling.

Third - did you need special side mirrors or can you see around the trailer?

Welcome, brewsterivy! Could you tell us a little more about your Tow vehicle? The max loaded weight on that TT appears to be 3200 lbs as per Jayco`s website. The 2500 lbs is empty weight. I think you will need tow mirrors to see around your trailer. Not for sure if you need sway control on a trailer that size, but a friction sway bar would give some inexpensive peace of mind. -Lee

Thanks Crabman! The tow vehicle is a 2008 Subaru Tribeca, v-6, 2.6 liters. I currently have a class 1 hitch but will get a class 3 installed with the electric brakes. I previously had a 13' Scamp which was quite light and easy to tow, but just a bit too small.

I would try to keep my packing light, as the only heavy item I have (and may not need) is a small Honda generator. I probably won't be going into mountain areas as I live in NY and pretty much stay on the east coast. However, I do go to the Adirondacks once or twice a year for concerts.

I appreciate you help and will probably get the sway installed as you suggest.
