camco tornado tank rinser

Has anyone installed one of these units on their BW tank? I bought one and cannot install it according to the manufacturer's instructions, ie, opposite the drain valve and 2" down from the top of the tank. Our tank on the jay feather 23m is just too shallow and a cross-member blocks sufficient access to the correct side of the tank. I'm wondering if installing it at a higher height and on the same side as the drain valve will work.

We didn't purchase the Tornado but a similar type, "no muss flush". I paid the dealer to install. They made sure the nozzle located in the Black tank was pointed onto the sensor. The sensor is now accurate as it is getting cleaned off every time we flush the tank. Best of luck.

Wondering the same thing. it sounds like the same setup as my 2011 x213. I think it might still work on the drain side. did you ever try it?

The instructions are for the best location, not the only usable location. Closer to the top of the tank would work fine. As long as the attachment screws can be screwed into the tank, you're good. If your only choice is the same side as the outlet valve, then that's what you have to do. There's still an opening in the middle of the Tornado that should get water over to the other side of the tank. Even more important than being opposite the outlet would be getting water to rinse off the sensor probes poking into the tank. No matter where you put it it'll be a huge bonus to rinsing your tank. I've installed one on a previous rig and my current rig came with one. Really a handy device.

I installed one on my gray and black tanks. I mounted them as close to the 2" mark but will admit I put them were I wanted as opposed to where they said. So far, they have worked well. I think I replaced the screws provided with stainless steel. The hardest part was getting the nerve to drill the hole. For some reason modifying our TT stills bothers me.
