Smartphone trick

We picked up our X213 today and after we loaded and set up a few things, we parked it in storage for the first time. My wife and I both have Verizon Galaxy S7s and we can make a point to point video call. She stood behind the trailer in the storage slip and held the camera where I could see the trailer as I backed in. The trailer spare has to touch the back wall for the gate to close. I could see the wall and the trailer on my phone and hear her as well. It worked pretty slick.

I just had an image flash in my mind of someone taping a smart phone to the back of an RV to use as a backup camera.

All seriousness aside, cool idea!

No reason why you can't. RAM mounts makes all kind of cell mounts you could set up back there, plus you have sound!

I use the smart phones for hitching since my 12yo son can't seem to get me straight under the hitch. Now he calls me on face time and slides his phone under the plate to hold it in place, takes about 10 seconds to back under the ball correctly and off we go. I was going to buy an iball camera system but at $170 this is much cheaper.
