Upstairs light switches

The switch on the wall by the bathroom sink seems to be malfunctioning- It will work with the overhead fixture outside the throne room but will not turn the vanity lights on now- I think there is something wrong in the wiring at the switch- How is the switch held in the wall? Has anyone here on the forum had this problem? All replies appreciated and THANX in advance for your assistance- DD

The trim on the switch just snaps off and the screws are under it. Is there a separate switch on the vanity light fixture?

There is only 1 switch but it controls the vanity lights and the overhead light outside the throne room- I use that overhead light when I shower late at night- Of course, my wife uses the vanity lights whenever she's in front of the vanity? Oh well, that's another story- What I need is an idea of what I'll find when I remove the switch from the wall? DD

Just two, or 3 wires and a couple spade connectors and possibly a knife type splice connector. Nothing complicated.
