New tires

I posted earlier about having lots of sidewall cracks in my Michelin tires. Lots of tread left and the sides are shot. Well, after doing lots of reading and searching I am getting another set of Michelin's. You know what they say. "Burn me once shame on you. Burn me twice shame on me."

That and the price I got. My old tires should not have cracked like they did. They were only 4 years old. My truck is parked in my shop all summer in the North and then sits out during the winter in Az. I will make an attempt to keep the sunny side covered on the new ones.

For a comparison, today I took the tires off my old Ford Ranger. They were 18 years old and the tread was completely wore out and the side walls still looked like new.

Cover the RV tires when not in use... the difference is vehicle tires are usually driven regularly while trailer tires sit for long periods of time.. being driven helps move the molecules around and "refreshens" the sidewall... Please note that a rule of thumb is that any tire has a 5 year from date of manufacture lire and should be replaced after that regardless of how it looks...
