Jayco Quality Questions and New 30X Floorplan

I am near the end of my research and really love the new Greyhawk 30x layout but am struggling with quality of Jayco compared to others that are factory direct (Phoenix Cruiser, Coach House). Does anyone have this model with the new full wall slide and have you had any problems with it?

I also struggle with the inability to get any modifications, as in I don't want the uncomfortable dinette and need to replace it with a desk/work area. I also want a reclining couch or Euro chairs vs their couch.

I talked with national sales manager at Tampa show last week (was not very friendly at all and didn't seem happy that I was asking to order one without the conventional furniture), but he did at least say he could reroute the one hvac duct they run out thru the dining bench and leave out the dinette for a $500 charge.

I'm struggling with aesthetics in the layout vs a higher quality (and somewhat higher price) unit.... I know you all own Jayco products but I don't feel Jayco compares to say, Phoenix Cruiser, in build quality. I am also worried about all the complaints I've read regarding dealers and warranty repairs as I want to travel for awhile and won't be staying near a reputable dealer. Also, my local dealer is terrible.

I don't know if anyone has any insight for me or about my reluctance to now buy Jayco after my extensive research, but any comments would be welcome. Thanks.

Nothing substantial to add except a small opinion that if you need that much in the way of modifications, I'd be looking at a different coach. I can't see the rationale for paying so much for a coach, then paying more for what could be intrusive and disruptive renovations.

Reading between the lines - terrible dealer, you know the quality doesn't line up, reluctance to buy Jayco -- I'd gently suggest not doing this.

It's ok to move on to another manufacturer and model. You are trying too hard to buy a Jayco.

Every brand has it's issues... There's good dealers and bad dealers that sell them all. Most excel at selling... some do a good job after the sale and provide decent service... others not so much

I agree with Okie Dan... if you purchase a Jayco you'll have buyers remorse with the first defect... and there will be defects... at least if you purchase the Phoenix Cruiser when the defects show up they will be "higher quality" defects....

I know what you're saying. I tried hard to stay with Jayco but ended up buying a SOB trailer......

My only comment... having a full length slide - that big of a slide has more problems than not with the power equipment moving it in/out.
