Pull down shade stuck

Hi fellow Jayco owners,

This is driving me crazy. Redhawk 29XK. My pull down shade by the main kitchen table is stuck and won't pull down. Is there some kind of trick I'm missing with this? I can't seem to find a definitive answer on the internet

Can you see the brand name? Is it MCD? If so, their manuals are online and they are very responsive to emails. I've got an MCD shade that won't go *up*.

When my shades seem to get stuck...

I use both hands, spaced wide apart and try to center/balance the bottom.

With a little pressure (3-5 lbs of force) you can feel which side is free and which is binding.

By alternating (Up/down) pressure on the free side while keeping light pressure on the binding side in the direction you want to go, the cords will fall into place and the shade will move freely again.

The trick to keeping them moving easily is ALWAYS grab them in the middle so that the cords in both sides stay even.

There are two strands of cord, at the top of the shade, they are tied to each end of a spring. From there they go to the sides, and down through the holes at the edges of the shade material. After they enter the bottom piece, they cross each other, end exit the bottom plastic piece, at the end caps, and wrap around the spools that are screwed to the wall. Those are what you can tension the cord with. As TWP723 said, the cord is all wrapped up with itself, or it's catching at the bottom piece. The whole shade is removable, with some contortions. Easier to diagnose and fix while on a flat surface. I've been there! Good luck.
