Correct! You need two keys to program a third. If you only have one key, the vehicle needs to be hooked up to a computer to program. PATS keys are finicky. If you have two, here's the program procedure:
Insert the 1st working key and turn ignition until all the lights come up on the dash. Turn it back off. Insert the 2nd key and do the same thing. Take the 3rd (just cut) key and do the same. It should be programmed.
Key fobs: Put ignition key in and turn till all the lights come up on the dash then turn off. Do this 8 times in 10 seconds, ending in the run position on the 8th time. The locks will cycle confirming the vehicle is ready to accept the programming. Push any button on the key fob. The locks will cycle again. Take the key out and the locks will cycle a 3rd time. Do this with ALL remotes at the same time, one after another. (even the ones that work already). If you don't do all the fobs for the vehicle at the same time, the ones NOT done will no longer work.
