321 RLTS Thermostat Placement

We have been full timing in our 321RLTS for 5 years now and have not had much occasion to run our AC for extended periods. This year for the last two months we have been at South Padre Island, TX where it has been very humid so we have been running our ACs nearly full time. I noticed that the living room AC ran almost continuously. We keep it set at 76 degrees, and in the rear by the AC the temperature would get down to 72, while the thermostat read 78, and kept running. I believe that the thermostat located on the front wall under the kitchen cabinets is in a bad location. The cabinets seem to hold the warm air over the thermostat. I placed a small personal size battery operated fan on the counter top directing air towards the thermostat, which has corrected the problem. The temperature is now even throughout the living area and the AC cycles normally.

I've noticed similar performance in our 5th. Our ceiling fan helps to stir the air.

I do have the ceiling fan running all of the time but it isn't as effective as the small fan.

If the noise doesn't bother you then you can also set the AC's fan mode to run continuous (rather than auto) to help stir up the air.

That works for me.
