Fill fresh water/water pump

Hello,
I had the dealer winterize my trailer last fall 2016 eagle. I just de-winterized it with no issues. I was going to run some water thru the fresh water tank and pipes before filling it for a camping trip this weekend. When I put some water in the tank and went inside I got nothing out of any of the faucets. (Yes I had the pump on) then I heard water running......I went out of the trailer and noticed that water was running out of the water inlet. When I turn off the pump the water stops running. It's like when I have the pump on it's pumping the wrong direction? I have a main valve panel so i'm unaware without taking the whole thing apart if there's another switch somewhere. This is my second summer with the trailer and I had no issues like this last year.
Any ideas for anyone?
Thanks for your help!

The check valve is stuck open. Make sure the filter screen is pointing out, not in.

Thank you, I do remember that the screen is pointed in. So I just have to change that around? Is there easy instructions to change it around?

I just grab mine - gently - with some needle-nose pliers and tug.

If the screen is pointed in, it depresses the check valve and holds it open. There are situations on my unit where I have to do that. Just have to remember to flip it back when I'm done.

When mine started doing this on my OFF-ROAD POPUP trailer i just picked up a plastic seal cap from local hardware store. Screwed that into the city water port on mine...

My dealer recommended turning the screen backwards, to depress the back flow preventer, when drawing in the antifreeze during winterizing. Said that it pulls in better that way, as the pump doesn't have to overcome the spring. Just remember to turn it back, after winterizing.

Thank you everyone. I switched the screen around last night and it worked like a dream!
Guess this is something for the memory bank.

Thanks again!!!
